Sick

I'm sick. Fell sick on Wednesday after having lunch with my friend. Sneezing non-stop at night. Then I was having fever yesterday. Feeling better now and craving for porridge but have no idea where to get it. I guess I have to wait for Nel after his work, hmmm, wonder when he'll be back. Starving.

Lunch @ Pasta de Gohan

Had lunch with my girlfriend today. We went to Pasta de Gohan.

We chatted for 3hours :p
Food is not bad and I couldn't finish the whole portion of pasta. A little bit pricey though.

Drinking session

Went to La Bodega for our drinking session on last Saturday. I was so sleepy cos my friend promised to pick me up at 11pm but he came at 12.15am. *Yawn*

Seriously, I scare people will punch me :p
I don't think the recent famous drink which is most of the Malaysian would rank it as their favourite beer - Hoegaarden taste nice. I don't like it. I prefer Paulaner or Killkenny.

We then headed to Club Twenty One at Changkat Bukit Bintang.

Saw two men fighting right in front of me when we left the club. Maybe I'll be hurt if I were walking one step faster. They're very fierce and one of them was bleeding a lot. Nel quickly pulled me away and we left the scene.

It was 4am when I was at home. Darn tired.

Bak Kut Teh for breakfast

Our new home is under the town of Subang Jaya & district of Damansara. However, Syabas at PJ don't accept our application & the staff advise us to go to Syabas office at Klang to apply for water supply. Weird -_-

We went for breakfast after that. Bak Kut Teh for breakfast. We have no idea which was the famous one and simply pick one - Restaurant Teluk Pulai. It was full house when we're there at around 10.30am. Klang ppl really like to take Bak Kut Teh for breakfast, huh. Isn't it too heavy for breakfast? Maybe once in a while would be nice :)

Sunday Dinner @ Stargrill

We had our dinner at Stargrill, a German restaurant in Taipan. However, the decor is nothing like German and the place is a bit warm. There was only two tables occupied when we walked into the restaurant. I guess they turned off the air-con to save electricity.

The food was mediocre and the sausage tasted like they boiled it instead of grill. I would rate it as "I won't be back for second time" category. The mushroom soup was very nice though.

Shabu Shabu Steamboat

We tried something new and it was recommended by Jackson. I'm gonna called this - steamboat restaurant for lazy people :p

They called it Japanese style steamboat but nothing was related to Japanese food except the conveyor belt was used. I suppose that's the reason of it :)

Each of us has a personal steamboat pot.

No walking. No queuing. You just need to grab the food you like when you see it, in front of you. Convenient, isn't it?

The food was serve in small portion. 2pieces in a plate. 2pieces of fish fillet, 2pieces of dumpling, 2 pieces of fishballs! If you want more, you gotta grab more.

It costs about RM27 per person. Nothing to shout about but no complaint.

Korean Food

This is an outdated post :p
A few weeks ago, I had dinner with one of my friend at this Korean Restaurant located at 1st floor, above McD ss15 Subang Jaya. I couldn't remember what was the name of the restaurant.

We took the pork + lamb set, it came with 2 glasses of watermelon juice, all the little refillable dish, fruits and rice tea. It was okay. The food is not too bad.

My friend said I should take more Korea food so that I'll eat some vege :p

A night out

I had dinner with colleagues after work tonight. We went to "Lemon" at Dawson Street - it's a cafe where they serve crepes, waffles and great coffee. I had a crepe with milk choc and vanilla ice-cream - €6.30. The price is quite reasonable for Dublin standard. It's been a while since I last had one.

It's relaxing having a good time chatting with colleagues after a busy working day.

I know tomorrow it's Labour Day in M'sia but there is no such Labour's Day in Ireland. In fact my colleagues don't even know what does Labour's Day celebrate for?
I have to work tomorrow.
It's ok. I will have a long weekend anyway because the coming Monday is a Bank Holiday :)

Korean BBQ

We had Korean BBQ for dinner last Saturday.

Meet my housemate - Ta Wei. He's from S'pore. Coincidentally, his girlfriend is Nel's hometown friend's sister. What a small world. Anyway, he brought us to this Korean BBQ restaurant. The food is nice!!!

The food is good for a Korean restaurant in Dublin. It might not be the best but it is certainly better than what we expected.

Some friends might have heard my experience with another Korean restaurant in Dublin. It was dreadfully awful. Actually, this particular restaurant is just two doors away from the Korean BBQ restaurant! Let me briefly describe the experiene one more time - they served sushi wrapped with cheese and mixed pepper. Can you imagine that?

Sushi Rice

plus

Cheese
plus

Mixed Peppers

How distasteful is that! Some might suggest that the restaurant is trying to alter the dishes slightly to suit ang moh's taste bud! Fusion? Don't tell me about fusion! I want authentic Korean food!

What I like about the Korean BBQ restaurant which we went last week is the BBQ hotplate is fired by charcoal! The food are definitely tastier.

I gonna return for my birthday dinner this weekend. My birthday has just passed but who cares! So I'll celebrate my birthday at this Korean BBQ restaurant on this coming Saturday :p

Half ten at night

Two idiots were craving for desert at around half ten. Idiot A decided to bake a cake. Idiot B offered to help. Both of them finished all the preparation in half an hour. The cake needs to be baked for a good 50-55mins!

The baking tray seems to be a bit small for the amount of batter prepared. Idiot A was afraid the batter would be overflowed when it was being baked. Idiot B thought that would not happen but though that it would be bloated like a mushroom. Both of them kept checking the cake every 15mins to see whether has the batter overflown nor has it been over-baked, burnt.

Both of the idiots were sleepy while waiting for the cake.

At 11.50pm, the cake was done and it's perfect!

They had a slice of cake and a cuppa eventhough they were sleepy. They felt so satisfied and went to sleep.

~THE END~

What a stupid night!!!!!

Spanish Food

Since day one we arrived at Spain, we wanted to try some authentic Spanish food. Somehow, Alan and Kher Xin were not very keen on it!

Day One, they suggested to have KFC for our dinner!

Day Two, we had lunch at a chinese restaurant nearby our hotel and we had chinese food too for dinner -_-"

Day Three, we had lunch at the same chinese restaurant that is nearby our hotel again -__-"

That night, hubby couldn't stand anymore and suggested we should try some Spanish food.

What I do not understand is why don't they try other cuisines other than Chinese's. Wherever they go, they would surely look for chinese restaurants.

Anyway, we eventually managed to persuade them to try some Spanish food that night.

~Paella~

It's a flavoured rice dish cooked with an assortment of seafood and meat served in a huge frying pan.

I wouldn't say it's awesome nevertheless it tastes pretty good. The rice is a bit sticky. Once the paella was served on our table, it looked so yummy-li-cious and we couldn't help but started eating it until I forgot to snap a proper photo. 70% of it was already in our stomach. Tee-hee.

~Sangria~

We tried the popular Sangria too - it's Spanish wine punch. And it mean "bleeding" in Spanish. I wonder why whoever invented it named the drink as bleeding? Could it be the colour? But all red wine are red too.

~Tapas~

The chic Spanish food which we love most!!! By saying "we", I mean Nel and I ok.

It's an appetizer or could be served as side dishes. They may be cold or warm.

Originally, tapas were just slices of bread used to cover the wine glass between sips. The purpose was to prevent flies hovering around the wine.

However, it has evolved to be an appetizer to Spanish over the years. We went into a bar and the tapas were presented and arranged neatly on the bar counter. It's as if they were luring me to bring them home (my stomach, ha-ha). It's like food heaven to me :D I forgot to snap a proper picture again. Hehe... Eat first, think later ;)

They are served like "buffet style" and you just have to get a plate and select whichever you like. Yummy!!!

Beware of how many you take, it costs around 2-4 euro each and the amount of bill could be ended up sky-high. It's like having "lok-lok" in M'sia.

~Norway Lobster~

Alright, this is not really Spanish food but to avoid Alan from suggesting Chinese food again, we quickly suggested we should try seafood on one of the days while we were in Spain. We were all craving for seafood!!!!!

There's a lot of seafood restaurants along a stretch of street by the seafront boulevard and we went into this one. All in BLUE theme!

We wanted to order 2 sets of seafood plater (as it's written in the menu that each plate serves 2) but the friendly waiter seemed shock. Although we did not understand what he try to say most of the time, we guessed he was trying to indicate that the 2 portions are too much for us.

He even tried to chat with us. Bla bla bla bla Sa-grrra-da Familia bla bla bla....

The only word we understood was Sagrada Familia. Others? Not a single one! Again, sign language is the best communication tool. Basically, we guessed he was saying when the metro (underground train) passes by Sagrada Familia, the church would be shaking and he even moved his body left-right to show us. Hahaha. Not funny! But good try!

He was right. The portion was H.U.G.E!!! Luckily we only ordered 1set! The portion was so heavy man...I think it weighted 4-5kg easily. Don't play play :p

Let me think...there were 4 Norway lobsters, 4 big fish fillets, 4 huge portion of giant squids, lots of lots of mussel and countless prawn!!!!!!!

Four of us spent 2hours just to finish that seafood plater.

This was probably the only mutually-consent dinner we have had so far for the trip ..ha-ha

The rest of the days, no matter where we were, be it in Madrid or Valencia. They always try to suggest Chinese Food.

Remember I mentioned that it's quite hard to communicate in Spain because most of them only speak Spanish?

Perhaps the only word Alan learnt and remembered is "Where is CHINO RESTAURANTE"???

Hahaha!!!!!

And Out of Nowhere It Arrived...

The sun came out yesterday and brought a smile to everybody face. What is so precious about the sun? You must be asking the question now. Me too!
I hate sunlight! However, you wouldn't think that way if you are staying in a country like Ireland.

~St Stephen Green in Dublin~

Temperatures hit 22C recently. We have already felt the heat. I think we are getting used to the temperate weather here. It's hot these few days! We couldn't even sleep at night and have to open the window!

Because....The season of Ireland...is basically summarised as...

Spring : Rain
Summer: Rain
Autumn : Rain
Winter : Rain

So, sunny days are PRECIOUS to the locals here.

Anyway, it was such a beautiful day. We had a stroll at public park in central Dublin today. It was so crowded.

It was so relaxing and exhilarating when you could have a break and breathe some fresh air after a long working week.

We saw this group of people. They were trying to form a word. Can you see it? It's ITALIA.

Oh, I miss my friends. I wish I could snap some cute photos like this but what word should we form? Definitely not MALAYSIA!!!!!

This cute little kid showed off his butt to his dad. He shake his cute little butt while screaming "Take my butt, take my butt!!"

Oh ya, we had lunch at Charlies that afternoon; a malaysian cuisine restaurant. We've heard a lot about that restaurant. Most of them have bad impression about the food. They commented the food just doesn't worth the money.

After trying a few dishes a few times, we opine otherwise. Instead, most of the food are quite delicious. I would rate 4/5 for the dishes we have ordered thus far.

Hai Nam Chicken Rice

Malaysian Curry Mee

From the pics above, you could tell they really taste good. I have no idea why do they warn us not go to the restaurant ever.

Perhaps it's because of the price. For the price like this, I could have 10bowls of curry mee and 10plates of hai nam chicken rice at Malaysia.
